Child Care Health

Child Care Health Consultation promotes the health, safety, and development of children and caregivers in child care settings. We envision a collaborative, culturally and linguistically responsive, equity and justice focused, inclusive child care health consultation system that supports every child being happy, healthy, safe, and thriving.

Best Starts for Kids is investing in system-building projects to support relationship-building between all child care health consultants and child care providers, support child care health consultants' connection and relationships with one another, strengthen the child care health consultant workforce, and co-design supportive systems for monitoring and evaluation.

Best Starts defines child care providers broadly to include family, friend, and neighbor caregivers (FFN), providers in license-exempt programs, and providers in licensed child care programs. Child Care Health Consultation services include culturally and linguistically specific community-designed services.
