About Our Program

The Encompass Child Care Health Consultation team provides free guidance and support to licensed childcare programs, part-day preschools, before/after school care programs, summer camps, nannies, grandparents and all other caregivers. Our goal is to empower childcare providers to nurture the healthy development and school readiness of all children in their care. With a strength based, trauma informed and healing centered lens, we work to support the well-being of childcare providers, children, and families. Our approach to consultation is rooted in the belief that ongoing, sustainable change happens when the focus of consultation is on the relationship between teachers, caregivers and the children in their care. Our approach is informed by Trust Based Relational Intervention, Developmental, Individual Differences, and Relationship-based (DIR) model, the Circle of Security Classroom Approach and the STAR Institute for Sensory Processing.

Meet the Team

Our team is a collaborative group of professionals dedicated to providing comprehensive child care health consultation.  Our team is made up of a public health nurse, occupational therapist, speech pathologist, and mental health therapist.  Each member brings a unique perspective and expertise, from promoting physical health and well-being, enhancing language and communication skills,  fostering social-emotional development and  improving functional abilities and sensory processing. By combining our strengths, we can address a wide range of needs and create tailored strategies that support teachers and caregivers to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.

Description of Services Offered

Our team offers caregivers strategies to support children’s development, social/emotional and behavioral health which can include on-site observation of classroom environments and individual children. We can support developmental, vision and hearing screening for children and support teachers and families in navigating evaluation and referral process based on screening results. We have a lending library of books and materials for use in the classroom and can help teachers create individualized visual supports for children to assist in communication, transitions and daily activities. We can provide consultation on creating care plans for children with health conditions, IFSPs and IEPs to meet both the WAC requirements and child’s needs. We offer trainings for teachers and caregivers that are free of cost. Encompass is an OSPI approved continuing education/clock hour provider. As a part of our trainings, we offer clock hour in-service registration forms, agendas and certificate of completion. We will assist teachers in completing a Continuing Education Proposal in MERIT for STARS hours credits.

Communities Served

Our program supports providers in the Snoqualmie Valley which includes the cities of North Bend, Snoqualmie, Fall City, Carnation and Duvall. These cities are within the boundaries of the Snoqualmie Valley School District and the Riverview School District. We are happy to help facilitate referrals to other child care consultation programs that serve providers outside of this geographic area.
