Dr. Kimberly Kinzer
P-12 Curriculum and Professional Development Specialist
About
Dr. Kimberly Kinzer currently serves as the P-12 Curriculum and Professional Development Specialist at Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok, Thailand. Previously, she held the position as Executive Director of Teaching and Learning (Area Superintendent) in two P-12 public school systems and has spent several years as an Executive Director of Instructional Leadership, working alongside school and district leaders to improve equitable, educational experiences and outcomes for students. Dr. Kinzer is one of the co-founders of the West Coast Center for Emotionally Intelligent Leaders where she works with leaders to improve emotional intelligence for leaders and teams.
From 2012-2014 Dr. Kinzer served as the Program Director of the Washington P-3 Executive Leadership Institute at the University of Washington (UW) to help launch the first cohort of experienced leaders nation-wide in P-3 work for Washington State. She has thirty one years of experience working with children PreK-12 in private and urban, public education and extensive experience as a teacher, coach, mentor, principal, early learning director, central office administrator and executive leadership coach.
Dr. Kinzer's work includes collaboration in the Cross-District P-3 Coalition, Generation Joy (Teacher Development in South Africa), the P-3 Collaborative for Holistic Education, Literacy Design Collaborative and as well as serving on the Board of Access Montessori for five years.
Dr. Kinzer has presented at leadership conferences, school districts, schools and universities on emotional intelligence, social emotional learning for adults and children, race and equity, creative approaches to Writer’s Workshop, Professional Learning Communities, curriculum and instructional strategies, Early Learning P-3, and leadership health and wellness. She completed her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Washington where she focused her studies on race and equity, policy development and leadership efficacy.
