Cecilia Martinez Vasquez
About
An immigrant to the State of Washington, raised in the Yakima Valley, Cecilia learned from very young the meaning of equity at the micro and macro levels. At a macro level, civil war pushed her family to migrate to a new country and at a micro level, daily reminders of that migration impacted her perspective on childhood, education, learning, and development. Cecilia has Bachelor degrees in Political Science, Ethnic Studies, and minors in Women's Studies and a Masters in Justice and Social Inquiry. This degrees allowed Cecilia to study the impacts that systems and structures have on the lives of communities and the futures of families who go on to have babies. Cecilia now works at Children's Therapy Center as the Director of Operational Excellence & Equity.
