About
Desiree Yoro Yoo is the eldest child of Filipino immigrants and has 2 beautiful children with her husband who she has been friends with since high school. With a strong desire to be of service, she graduated with her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and has worked most of her professional career in community mental health centers supporting young children and families of color involved in child welfare. Desiree is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is a California-Endorsed Infant Family Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist and Reflective Practice Mentor. She is the co-author of a children’s book Let’s Talk About Fires: A Story and Conversation Guide for Grown-ups and Young Children, which was written in response to the January 2025 wildfires in Los Angeles County. Desiree currently works at WestEd as an Early Childhood Equity Infant Mental Health Workforce Specialist.
