About

Rosanne Carter is the founder of Kavana Consulting, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and an Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist with 23 years of experience supporting the parent/child dyad, creating positive lifelong impacts on the child's social-emotional health. She believes in cultivating relationships through connection and focuses on supporting families in developing the capacity to experience, regulate, express emotions, and form close and secure interpersonal relationships. In addition to her work with families, she is a workshop facilitator and also provides reflective supervision/consultation and early childhood mental health consultation to providers and clinicians serving young children and their families in King, Snohomish, and Pierce County. Rosanne is committed to co-creating brave spaces to explore the impact of systemic inequities, implicit biases, power and privilege, and generational trauma on the families we all serve, so that reflection, discovery, and growth can happen. She identifies as hard-of-hearing and was raised by two Deaf parents. She is bi-lingual; American Sign Language (ASL) is her first language and you will often see her use her hands in visual ways when communicating. Her lived experiences of living in both the Deaf and hearing culture, and often in the in-between spaces, show up in how she deeply connects and cultivates relationships with others.
