Details

This workshop brings together the foundational knowledge of Attachment Theory and social identities and equity to help participants recognize and honor relationships in diverse cultures. Through presentation and activities, Dr. Oxford and Dr. Nagda will provide time for participants to think about and discuss their lives and the lives of the families and communities that they work with to consider challenges and resiliencies in building healthy relationships. The facilitators will also focus on the role and practices providers have to support and promote safety for diverse children and families. The virtual workshop includes two 3.5 hour sessions (with breaks) offered on two days. Part I will focus on learning about and exploring attachment theory and interactions with others. Part II will focus on strengthening provider capacity as sources of support and safety. Examples will be used to strengthen application and practice skills of self- and co-regulation, sense of wonderment, and working with diverse families and children. (Participation in both days is required).
