This is a 7-part series Community of Practice.

Storytelling is a form of reflecting, sharing knowledge and learning on relationships and a way to preserve them all while planning for continued growth. Join Elizabeth and Diana as they share personal and professional stories retelling the idealistic visions of themselves as mothers and as family supports in their respective roles in the community in contrast with the realities life may present.

Join a collaboration of learning, sharing the joys and challenges in pregnancy, births, lactation, and the first few months after the birth within the contrast of unexpected realities of these phases. In addition to building relationships with other King County prenatal to five providers, this Community of Practice will help you develop and hone tools for you to into your work:

  • Reflective practice
  • Relational support
  • Skills for identifying family's strengths and protective factors
  • Trust building and cultural honoring
  • Rich understanding of infant growth and developmental stages

This community conversation will focus on the development of the caregiver-baby relationship and their steps as new dance partners while each develops their rhythms with the hope of composing a synchronous exchange. All while the music of life plays along with the noise and tunes from community, family, and friends as potential interference.
