Details

Have you ever wondered about your impact on the children and families that you serve?

Have you ever found yourself taking leadership in your professional spheres even if you hadn’t considered yourself as a leader?

Whether you identify strongly as a leader, or are developing your leadership style, we have a Community of Practice (CoP) dedicated to leadership for early childhood practitioners. This CoP will be based on the book “Learning to Lead” by Dr. Debra Ren-Etta Sullivan, and will be facilitated by Dr. Sullivan herself. Books will be provided to all participants who complete an application and are selected to be part of the CoP.

Stipends or staff-release time are available for participants who work and/or live in King County that attend 80% of the sessions, or 6 out of 8 full sessions, if this training is during your work hours. Staff-release time requests without supervisor approval will not be granted.

Book Description

“Learning to Lead helps early childhood professionals at any level cultivate their leadership potential and skills with an introduction to leadership theory and practice, including definitions of the functions and styles of leadership and examinations of the roles of empowerment, followership, and advocacy in the leadership process."
