Updates from King County Early Learning Coalition in the context of federal government shutdown 11/4/25: 

• A judge has ruled that temporary SNAP funds must be distributed. However, benefits may initially be half the normal amount and could be delayed.

• Governor Ferguson has also committed $2 million per week in emergency funding to support food banks

King County's Child Care Health Program has developed care plan packets for providers to use.

As of August 2025, DCYF has endorsed the care plan packets developed by the King County Child Care Health Program for programs across the state to use. The updated care plans are now co-branded with the PHSKC and DCYF logos, and they satisfy WAC requirements for medical care plans in early learning programs. 

Care plan packets include:
