FLIP IT: A Resource for Transforming Challenging Behavior
Healthy Child Development
Details
FLIP IT is a four-step supportive strategy to help young children learn about their feelings, gain self-control, and reduce challenging behavior. This is adapted from the Devereux Center for Resilient Children. In this workshop, participants will familiarize themselves with the four steps of FLIP IT as a tool to help resolve minor challenging behaviors in children. They will understand the pre-requisites of using FLIP IT and learn about some causes of challenging behavior in children that this method calls “ick,” along with internalizing and externalizing behaviors. Participants will practice employing the four steps through example scenarios and will gain the tools to use FLIP IT on their own at the end of the workshop.
This meeting is not eligible for STARS credit and may be recorded for training purposes
