Hello and thank you for being here! My name is Bambie Fontana and I have over a decade of nursing experience serving my community. I worked as a med-surg nurse on the floor at Island Hospital and as a school nurse early in my career. I completed my BSN at UW-Bothell in 2013 and my Masters in Nursing Leadership and Management in 2015. In 2018, I began serving the ECEAP (preschool, ages 3-5) and Early Head Start (ages prenatal-3) children and families within Snohomish County (nearly 30 preschool sites and approximately 80 EHS families) in the Human Services department, where I was responsible for creating, implementing, and monitoring the health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines for the ECEAP program. I performed monitoring visits for all of the county's ECEAP preschool sites, assuring they were aligned with licensing WACs, ECEAP Performance Standards, and Caring for Our Children--best practice guidelines.  I am comfortable reviewing health and safety policies and making recommendations to improve and seamlessly implement changes. I have an early background as an avionics technician in the U.S. Navy. and when I was stationed at NAS Whidbey Island in March 2000, I've never left the Puget Sound area. I love it here!
