Details

Join Prenatal to Five providers across King County to grow your skills and confidence in facilitating relationship-based child developmental screening. You will have the opportunity to share experiences and learn best practice for adapting screening tools (eg. ASQ) to celebrate each child’s growth with their family.

Part 1: Screening in Partnership with Families (Oct 5, 2023: 12 PM - 2 PM, via Zoom)

In smaller language cohorts we will explore strategies to engage families in developmental screening conversations. We will learn how to present screening tools, share results, and address stigma in an inclusive and culturally responsive way. We will reflect on the cultural norms and biases embedded in child developmental screening practice and how to address them.

Part 2: Responsive Screening Across Cultures (Oct 6, 2023: 12 PM - 2.30 PM, In person)

Expand your capacity to individualize child developmental screening within each family’s unique cultural context. Learn how you can use and adapt screening tools to be most responsive for families from familiar cultures and those different from your own.

Address: 645 Andover Park West, Room #105, Tukwila, WA

We recommend providers attend both parts of this training series, but it is not required. Each training must be registered for individually. Registration for Part 2 can be found here.

Please note that training will be available in English, Somali, Spanish, and Tigrinya. Interpretation is available upon request.
