Community-driven exploration to cultivate collaboration in Home-Based Services strategy

Community leadership is essential to the creation of projects that effectively reach families, pregnant people, babies and children. With that in mind, we’re launching community meetings across the county to help us create a continuum of services for our Home-based Services strategy.

BSK will host meetings with community organizations in different King County regions to support cultivating a collaborative and coordinated approach prior to the release of the Home-Based Services Funding Opportunity.  We hope to invest in ways that inspires organizational cross-collaboration, rather than competition so families across our communities benefit and organizations have a strong referral system with one another.

Intended participants: Existing home-based service providers and those interested in starting up a new home-based service.

Each meeting will build on previous content, and support documentation will be provided to track progress over time - in case you or a colleague can’t make all the meetings!

Meeting 1: Cultivating Relationships and a Cohesive Network of Services for Families

We will focus on actively cultivating relationships within your region in order to facilitate coordination of services among community-based organizations.

Meeting 2: Data & Our Stories

We will focus on furthering our data storytelling as we think about the way forward in collectively meeting family needs. How do we know “what we know” and how do we “share these stories” with one another. How do these stories and perspectives help us identify where we want to further our efforts or try new strategies?

Meeting 3: Confirming our Continuum of Services Together – Putting the Pieces Together

Together we will discuss the benefit of coordinating services, reflect on what we’ve learned regarding gaps and opportunities for additional coordination with one another.  We will confirm next steps and plans for filling gaps and strengthening our continuum of services as a network of organizations.

Meeting 4: In-Depth Information Sharing on Eligible Models and Pathways through Best Starts for Kids Home Based Service Funding Opportunity

We will provide in depth overviews of the eligible models, answer questions regarding eligible services that came up along the way and share out start-up supports provided for launching new services.

Open to home-based service providers, community organizations interested in starting up a new home-based service, and organizations currently receiving Best Starts funding.
