We are also often able to be flexible to meet the needs of child care providers, so please let us know if there are different times during the week that would work well for you.
Since 2009, our Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health team has been providing consultation to early learning and childcare providers throughout King County. We believe that diversity, inclusion and equity are vital to living our values and achieving our mission. We are committed to improving mental health across the lifespan and understand that strong caregiver-child relationships promote healthy child development and can help prevent significant health problems in the future.
Our work focuses on collaborating with providers to recognize and support children’s social-emotional needs and develop skills to help children and families cope with the myriad of challenges that impact them. We look forward to joining with you, caregivers, and the children in your care to support you and the important work you do for your community.
We are a team of Masters-level infant mental health clinicians with specialized experience and training in working with young children and families. We have a strong passion for supporting young children and the important adults in their lives, including caregivers and child care providers.
- Individualized support to child care providers regarding their own wellness, concerns for children in their care, questions about child development, and more!
- Developmental screenings for young children
- Support accessing community referrals, resources, and materials (safety items, toys, books, sensory items, etc.)
- Information and support related to challenging behaviors, safety, developmental differences, sensory needs, social/emotional needs of young children, impacts of trauma and stress on young children, etc.
We are based out of Burien and our focus is on providing support to child care providers in South King County. However, we are happy to explore ways to meet the needs of child care providers in other areas of King County through use of telephone, virtual, and limited in-person consultation meetings. We are able to provide support to child care providers from diverse backgrounds and are able to use interpretation services.
